Fractions- Halves and Quarters

As a maths topic for the beginning of this term Room 2 has been looking at Fractions.
Take a look at the objects that we can half and quarter.

Here we all have a go at folding a piece of paper in half and then quarters.

The Number 18

This week we are looking at the number 18 in maths. Here the children have made the number 18 with their bodies.

Term 3

The Number 17

This week we are learning about the number 17. We know that ...
17 is a 1 and a 7 (Shampagne)
16 comes before 17( O' Meara-Jean)
It looks similar to 11 but the number 7 has a stick on the top (Ella)
18 comes after 17 (Henry)

Here we are having a go at making 17 with the playdough and the numbers that come before and after.

The Number 16

This week are looking at the number 16. Count with  your child up to and over 16 and talk about the numbers that come before and after 16.

We had fun making 16 with our bodies!

Building Bridges

Yesterday for Measurement the children had to measure and make a bridge for the Gingerbread man as a way of crossing the river without being eaten by the fox.
