Bread Recipe

Yeast v No Yeast

Today we did an experiment with bread. We made 2 different kinds of bread, one with yeast and one without yeast.
We found that the bread with the yeast rose better and was tastier. It even looked nicer although didn't hold its shape as well when we had a turn at making our own shapes.
Check out the slideshow below.

Number 14

This week we are looking at the number 14.
The children helped to make the number 14 using their bodies.
We know that the number 14 has a 1 and a 4 in it.
What other numbers can you make at home with your family??

Bread!!

Zavier brought in some delicious bread to share with the class yesterday. He had a shared talk about the bread which he had made with the help of his Mum.

Bread

For our science unit this term we are taking a look at bread. The 'Big Idea' that we are focusing on is that ......
'Changes happen at each stage of breadmaking'

To kick start our unit we had a look at different types of bread. What did they look, smell, feel and taste like?
We tried a bagel, tortilla, pita, wholemeal and white bread.
