Beach Trip

What a great time was had by all at Foxton Beach for our end of year trip. Many thanks to the Life Guards for their great Water Safety programme and keeping us safe when we swam. Thanks also to all the parents that came along to help :)

It statred out grey and wet but the sun turned it on for our Athletics Day.

Solar Eclipse

Yesterday we had a look at the Solar Eclipse that took place in our sky. We were lucky to have the use of a welders helmet that blocked out the brightness and allowed us to see the Eclipse.

Gearing up for Athletics

Yesterday Room 2 got out to start training for Junior Athletics which will be held here at Tokomaru School on Friday 23rd of November.
Here we are having a go at the Frisbee and shot put.

What's in the News in Term 4?

Tai was very excited this morning to share with the class about having his photo in the Manawatu Standard. His Dad was back from time over in Afghanistan and Tai was there to meet him with his Mum and brother Shayde at the airport.

New Zealand ShakeOut

Tomorrow is New Zealand's biggest national earthquake drill. We will all be taking part here
at Tokomaru School. Wherever you are at 9.26am remember to practice what to do in an earthquake.

LOUD SHIRT DAY at Tokomaru School

Friday was a day full of colour with the children from our class and school taking part in Loud Shirt Day. We had fun modelling our outfits for each other on the catwalk!

Odd Shoe Day

Today Tokomaru school wore Odd shoes to school to raise money for Camp Quality.
There were some great match ups!!

 

ASB - Get wise!

Today we had a Representative from ASB bank come and talk to us about money.

We learnt about the different amounts of money  10c, 20c,50c, $1, $2, $5, $20, $50 and $100! What an eftpos card was and to think about what a 'want' is verses a 'need'  when it comes to our spending.

New Zealand Wins Gold!

Room 2 having been using the Internet to relive our moments of glory at the London Olympics.

Turbos come to Tokomaru

Today Tokomaru School got a visit from the Manawatu Turbos. The children from Room 2 asked all the hard questions.
Who is your favourite All Black?
What to you eat for breakfast?
What do you wear on the field?
Where do you train?
The guys were all to happy to answer all our questions and sign some authogrpahs.
